Scope and content
Album contains photographs of the No.7 Canadian General Hospital in Etaples, France 1917-1919, including images of the staff at work, wounded patients, Christmas celebrations and other activities in the hosptial. The album also includes images of war damage and bombing on the hospital, some scenes taken at the front after the War, and many scenes of patients of various nationalities. The No. 7 Field Hospital was organized by Queen's University, and was commanded by Colonel F. Etherington. The No. 7 Field Hospital served in Cairo from January to April 1916, Le Treport from April to October 1916, and in Les Etaples from October 1916 to May 1919, when it was disbanded. The photographs in the album are highly personal, and contain a wealth of imagery about the day-to-day running of the hospital.
