Scope and content
Series consists of records relating to the Canadian India Famine Relief Fund, 1897-1898. This fund was established by the Governor General, Lord Aberdeen, in 1897 as a response to Empire-wide requests for assistance to a devastating famine in India. The Deputy Minister of Finance, J.M. Courtney, was the treasurer of this fund. The series includes correspondence and lists of subscribers.
