Biography / Administrative history
Après l'établissement du ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord en 1966, des agences se sont regroupées pour former des unités administratives plus grandes appelées districts. Le bureau de district de Williams Lake était situé à Williams Lake (C.-B.) et a été établi lorsque le nom d'Agence de Williams Lake à été changé en celui de district de Williams Lake, en décembre 1971.
A cette époque, le bureau était responsable de: Alexandria, Alexis Creek, Alkali Lake, Anaham, Canim Lake, Canoe Creek, Kluskus, Nazko, Nemaiah Valley, Quesnel 359, Soda Creek, Stone, Toosey, Ulkatcho et Williams Lake. Antérieurement, l'Agence de Williams Lake portait également le nom d'Agence de Lillooet et elle a été établie en 1883 comme l'une des trois nouvelles agences en Colombie-Britannique, les autres étant l'Agence de la Côte nord-ouest et l'Agence de Kamloops-Okanagan.
