Scope and content
Sub-series consists of various types of legal documents relating to many different members of the Molson family. Includes: pre-Canadian land papers (mostly relating to land in England); wills; estate papers; land papers, including deeds of transfer, deeds of sale, leases and mortgages; legal agreements and material relating to lawsuits; partnerhip agreements; marriage contracts; powers of attorney; and miscellaneous documents. Includes material in horizontal storage: settlement bond of disputes, land and other leases; indentures, last will and testament of John Molson; deed of sale between James Russel and Theophilus Sampson, Kingston, 15 March 1803. This material is in containers 622 to 624.
